"It’s my speaking bible"
This book is exactly what the title promises—a true speaker’s handbook. As someone constantly working to improve my public speaking skills, I found the A–Z format incredibly effective. Each keyword opens the door to a deeper understanding of a specific concept, allowing me to quickly focus on exactly what I want to learn.
What makes this book stand out is that Fursey doesn’t just define the terms—he teaches how to apply them. Drawing from over 30 years of experience in theatre and public speaking, he transforms each concept into something practical, actionable, and easy to implement.
I especially love the personal reflections from professional speakers, his acquiantances, his students. Their insights on what each word means in real life make the content feel more relatable, human, and alive. It’s not just theory—it’s lived experience.

“From Beginner to Pro: This Book Elevates Your Speaking Fast”
As a professional speaker for over twenty years, I’ve read countless books on public speaking—but none have broken the craft down into clear, practical components the way this one does. What makes this book so valuable is its ability to isolate each element of speaking, allowing you to focus, refine, and elevate your delivery with precision.
Whether you’re just starting out or already a seasoned professional, this book meets you where you are and helps you get better—fast.
Fursey Gotuaco’s "Public Speaking from A–Z" is more than a resource—it’s a toolkit. I now consider it indispensable, and it has earned a permanent place in my library.

“Learning to use my voice with purpose.”
This book is exactly what I was looking for. It doesn’t just teach techniques for public speaking — it helps you understand your own voice, your confidence, and the message you want to share with others. I’m glad to be reading it and I’m already feeling more prepared to express myself and support others in doing the same.
One thing that surprised me is how much the book made me reflect on the idea of “voice” in every sense. I don’t even use slides when I present — I use one of my roosters. Yes, an actual rooster. And Fursey, who once used it as a pet mascot at PSSG, even joked that he had given my rooster a voice. This book made that joke feel real: it reminded me that anything — even a rooster — can become a symbol of expression when you learn to speak with authenticity.
